Terms of Service

Last updated: 2 October 2026

The short version

1. Agreement

These terms are an agreement between you and WordWand (“we”, “us”) for using the WordWand website and web app (the “Service”). By creating an account you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Accounts

3. Plans and payment

Free plan

The free plan includes unlimited writing, writing checks and coaching, spelling help and 3 magic pictures a day. We may change free-plan limits in the future and will tell you before we do.

Founding Family pass

Refunds

If WordWand isn’t right for your family, email hello@wordwand.theorypractice.app within 14 days of buying the Founding Family pass and we will refund it in full. After 14 days, payments are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law where you live.

4. Your content

Writing, characters and stories your children create belong to you and them. You give us permission to store, process and display that content only as needed to run the Service for you — for example to give feedback, draw pictures, keep the portfolio and make storybooks. We do not use it for advertising or to train AI models. You can delete it at any time.

Pictures generated for your child may be used by your family freely for personal, non-commercial purposes, such as printing a storybook or sharing with relatives.

5. AI-generated pictures and feedback

Feedback, coaching questions, spelling hints and pictures are produced by AI. They are usually helpful but may sometimes be imperfect — a picture might miss or misread a detail, or a hint may be wrong. Scores and levels are a guide for practice, not a formal assessment. WordWand supports, and does not replace, teaching at school. Content filters aim to keep everything kind and age-appropriate; if something slips through, please report it to us.

6. Acceptable use

Please use WordWand for what it is made for: children practising writing. You and your children must not:

We may limit, suspend or close accounts that break these rules. If we close a paid account for a reason other than a breach of these terms, we will refund the unused part of the pass.

7. Our content

The WordWand name, app, pictures, prompts, characters (including Wanda the owl) and design belong to us. We give you a personal, non-transferable right to use the Service under these terms.

8. Changes and availability

We are always improving WordWand and may add, change or remove features. We work hard to keep it running but cannot promise it will always be available or error-free. If we make important changes to these terms, we will tell you in advance by email or in the app. If you keep using the Service after changes take effect, the new terms apply.

9. Ending your account

You can stop using WordWand and delete your account at any time from the app or by emailing us. Deleting your account removes your children’s profiles and work as described in our Privacy Policy.

10. Liability

The Service is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
